Implementation Guide

Karma Food Co-op members understand the economic, environmental and social impacts of the products purchased and their relationship to the values expressed in its product policy. To define and maintain this understanding it is important for Karma to have a decision making processes that is fair to all, works for the benefit of the whole, and enables Karma to remain a financially viable entity. The Food Issues Committee hopes that the in development implementation guide will establish such a process.

The Implementation Guide will be a working handbook that can be adjusted to the evolving interests of Karma and, more important, used in a manner that supports the work of our buyers, the Co-op employees who make daily decisions about the products members purchase. This is no easy task; the guide must allow buyers to decide whether the attributes of a product reflect our values, in a manner that requires minimal time and financial resources.

Stay tuned to keep informed about the Implementation Guide.
